Head Turning Opal Hat
Materials: 1 x 100g ball Opal Rodeo and contrast in Opal Prisma, pair 2.75 mm knitting needles.
Measurements: Headband width 56cm
Using Opal Rodeo cast on 76 stitches. Knit in stocking stitch for 56cm. Cast off. Pick up 132 stitches .
1st row: *k30, k2tog* repeat from * to * to end of row.
2nd row: *k29, k2tog* repeat from * to * to end of row.
Continue decreasing in this manner until approx 8 stitches remain. Using your trusty sewing needle, slip it through the remaining stitches and pull tight. Sew up seam, gathering as you go. Turn the bottom hem up approx 4cm and slip stitch right around
Band: Using Prisma cast on 30 stitches and knit in stocking stitch for the same length as hat body. Fill it with some wadding and stitch the long sausage together. Slip stitch it to the hat at same point at the hem finish. Gather at join and attach to the hat. Embellish with something grand and exciting!
