HAPPY OPAL/MOHAIR HAT

Materials: 1 ball Opal 6 or 8ply, 1 ball mohair, pair 4mm & 3mm needles

Using 4mm needles and Opal cast on 110 stitches. St stitch for 13cm then k2, p2 rib until work measures 18cm. Change to 3mm needles and mohair and proceed as follows:
Next row K5 (M1, K2, M1, K3) twenty times, M1, K5 (151 sts). Next row knit. Work crown as follows:
1st row: Purl 2nd row: Knit Work these 2 rows 6 times more then 1 row purl.
Shape crown as follows:
1st row: *K13, K2tog., repeat from * to last stitch., K1.
2nd & alt rows: Purl
3rd row: * K12, K2tog., repeat from * to last st., K1.
5th row: *K11, K2tog., repeat from * to last st., K1
6th row: Purl
Continue decreasing in this manner on next and every alternate row until 21 sts remain. Next row P1, P2tog. 10 times. Thread mohair through remaining stitches, draw up and stitch the mohair crown. Then stitch the rest of the hat. Decorate it if you wish!
