Febuary 2009 Please begin sending in pics of your outstanding Opal creations for this quarter, ending 30th April. The judges have had a holiday over summer after not being able to choose between the three entries, so they all won!!!! Make them work harder this time.
August 2008 - Competition Winners Announced! Many thanks to the passionate knitters who sent in pics of their delightful, eye catching little garments. The judges had to be locked away for days to finally decide that Heidi's little Baby Surprise Jacket and 'boots' was first. (If you know Heidi, please ask her to contact me as I cannot locate her email details). Pauline van de Pavoordt has obviously so cleverly had her needles clicking overtime with all those beautiful little outfits wins second prize. I actually saw Karen's daughter wearing her gorgeous beanie at the National Sheep Show in Bendigo recently. Karen's prize will probably make something just as stunning for her little girl. She says, "I knitted my first ever pair of socks using Lollipop yarn. I had always put socks in the 'too hard' basket but found the great anklet pattern at The Blue Blog. My friends have all been laughing at me knitting with what they call 'cheating wool' but they turned out great!" We think so too, Diane - thanks for the photo! The Bead and Opal Wool Queen
