Measurements: Length 36cm, finished width 60cm. Back: Cast on 64 stitches and work in moss st for 9 rows. Continue in st stitch until work measures 34cm. Next row: Right side facing, knit 18 moss stitch 28, knit 18. Next row: Purl 18, moss stitch 28, purl 18. Repeat these two rows twice then cast off. Right front: Cast on 38 stitches and work in moss st for 9 rows. Right side facing, moss st 6 sts, knit to end. Next row, purl to last 6 sts, moss stitch 6. Continue this for 24cm. Next row: (And each alt row) Right side facing, moss st 6 k2tog, knit to end of row. Repeat until 21 sts remain. Cast off. Left front: Work as for right in reverse. Mark on the right front where you want the buttons. Make a button holes to fit your buttons as you go. Sew shoulder seams tog. Right side facing, measure up 20cm from bottom and pick up 35sts evenly on both back and front (70) sts. Moss st for 8 rows. Cast off. Sew up side seams and put buttons on. The vest is ready to wear by your best little friend. * I chose not to match the pattern on the two fronts and really like the different way the pattern emerges.
