Blunt tip sewing needle
This pattern was created for the medium to small sized phones.
Top of bag:
Cast on 48 stitches, divide stitches on needles depending on needle choice. Being careful not to twist the stitches, join and knit (K) one round. Now start working in a K2, P2 rib for 1 1/2 ".
Body of bag:
Begin working the body of the bag in stocking stitch (ST ST) Continue knitting in ST ST until the bag in approximately 5" in length. (or until the bag is the length of your cell phone)

Begin the decreases for the bag bottom as follows:
Row 1: *K 4, Slip one stitch as if the K, K2, PSSO. K across to last 7 stitches, K 3 tog, K 4* Repeat once more from * to *
Row 2. K around
Repeat rows 1 and 2 twice more. This will leave you with 24 stitches remaining. Using the Kitcheneer stitch, sew bag bottom closed as you would the toe of a sock.
Flap cover:
Using cast on tail as a beginning, and with right side facing you, Pick up and K 24 stitches. work Flap as follows.
Row 1: K 4 , P across to the last 4 stitches and K 4. Turn.
Row 2: K across, Turn.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until flap measures 1 1/2 ", ending with row 2 for next row.
Make button hole as follows: K across 10 st, cast off 4 stitches, and cast 4 stitches back on, K last 4 stitches. Repeat rows 1 and 2 twice more. Now work in Garter Stitch for 4 rows, and cast off stitches.
Finishing:
To decide where to place button, place phone in bag and fold flap over to front of bag. Placement of button with depend on where the button hole is at this time. Take phone out of bag, sew on button in matching yarn. Weave all loose ends in.
Optional cording:
Using about 12 feet of matching yarn fold 4 times, you will now have 4 strands of yarn approximately 3 feet long. Twist this tightly, grasp in the middle and let yarn twist together to form the rope cording. Tie a knot at each end and trim edges. Sew one end of cord to each side of bag, as shown in picture. You can make the cord any length, this is just a general idea of how to make it.
