Opal 8-ply bolero jacket

Materials: 2 balls Opal 8ply, 1 ball contrast.  4.0 & 4.5mm knitting needles

Size: Women’s size 12-14

This is knitted in one piece to armhole.  Using 4.5mm needles cast on 200 sts.  Knit in st stitch for 29cm.

Right front: Right side facing k2tog, k 48 turn.  (Either place remaining 150 sts on spare needle or leave idle on needle in use).  Continue in st stitch decreasing 1 st at neck edge every 4th row 13 times.  Continue on these 37 sts until work measures 50cm.  Cast off.

Back: Join wool back into work and knit 100 sts, turn.  St stitch until work measures 50cm, cast off.

Left front: Knit the same as left front with neck decreases on opposite side.

Make up: Sew shoulders together 37st ea.

Armhole bands: With contrast wool and 4mm needles cast on 10 sts.  Knit in garter stitch until work fits into the armhole slightly stretched.  Cast off and join to band beginning.  Sew into armholes.

Body band: With 4mm needles cast on 10 stitches, work in garter stitch until band, slightly stretched fits bolero body.  Join band and stitch to body.   You may use an attractive pin to close the garment or leave open.
